From a company who lives with and suffer from dry skin, eczema and psoriasis - we are bringing to Fayora Candles our very own Kawakawa Balm. From years of myself and my mother suffering from painful skin conditions, we would always resort to Kawakawa balm as a natural healer to moisturize our dried, cracked and burning skin. After years of making our own balm to help cope with symptoms from our autoimmune diseases we have decide to share this in hope it will help you with your skin help and offer some relief. We understand how exhausting it is to live with autoimmune diseases, we understand the pain of trying everything to experience some relief and we understand what can soothe compromised skin and prevent triggered compromised skin from getting worse. - Kawakawa leaves were traditionally used topically for numerous conditions including, bruises, rheumatism, dry - irritated skin and minor cuts and infections. Kawakawa leaves contain volatile oil and two key components of this, Myristicin and Elemicin have been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties.
- Historically, almond oil had been used in several traditional schools of medicine to treat dry skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It has regenerating, restructuring, and moisturising properties, and it is recommended for dry and delicate skin; it soothes rough and irritated skin.
- Hemp oil is an increasingly popular oil in beauty and personal care produts. Despite being from the same plant family as the marijuana plant, hemp and it's derivatives do not produce any intoxicating effects. Hemp oil is a considered to have anti-inflammatory properties, with its essential fatty acids useful in assisting skin conditions.
- Rosemary Antioxidant has been shown to be as effective as tocopherol for slowing the oxidation of oils and fats, thus helping to extend the shelf life of oil-containing formulations.
- Lavender is a highly versatile ‘first aid’ oil. Healing, soothing, antiseptic and analgesic properties make it the first choice for minor burns and wounds, itchy bites and aggravated skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis and acne. For general skin care Lavender is good for all skin types. Lavender calms nervous tension and acts as a gentle sedative to aid sleep and ease agitation and irritability.
